Monday 13th November marks the start of Liberated Library – a two week collaboration between the Library and the Union of Brunel Students aimed at diversifying the Library stock and encouraging ‘a universal range of books, authors and genres…’
To that end we’ll be promoting a series of themed days as follows
Monday 13th & 20th – Romance & Celebrating disabled authors
Tuesday 14th & 21st – Science Fiction & Celebrating Black Authors
Wednesday 15th & 22nd – Crime/Mystery & Celebrating Asian authors
Thursday 16th & 23rd – Fiction & Celebrating LGBT+ authors
Friday 16th & 24th – Fantasy & Celebrating female author
Over the course of the next two weeks, we’ll be inviting students to suggest books that they want to see in the Library – they don’t have to be course or subject related, just books that you like, or want to read or share with your fellow students. You can suggest books in person at our Liberated Library display on the ground floor of the Library, or you can submit your nominations online here

We’ll be displaying a few titles that were added to Library stock last year as well as giving you a few ideas to start you off through subsequent blog posts and on the display. If you want to see the full range of titles that we bought as part of last year’s Library liberation, just do a book search through the Library catalogue on the phrase ‘liberated library’…
