We’re proud to announce that no less than two teams and an individual colleague in the Information Services Customer Service Department received 2017 STAR Awards for their hard work and dedication to providing excellent service to Brunel staff and students.
The PC Support Team received their award for working on key projects such as introducing a free text service allowing students to report faulty equipment easily. This small team has made a big impact by tackling challenges with enthusiasm and introducing innovative schemes such as ‘hot swapping’ which ensures faulty student PCs are immediately replaced with working equipment and the ‘show desk’ which showcases different configurations of work stations aimed at increasing comfort and productivity.
The Customer Service Champions who work in the Library received their STAR award for their stellar work on improving the student experience at Brunel. Working on both individual and team projects, the Customer Service Champions have participated in a number of events to support student engagement, including support for Fresher’s Week, Study Well Week, and the Liberate My Degree initiative: our Champs Tim (pictured below) and John were the first Brunel staff members to have their own show on Radio Brunel!
Trish Southby, member of the Customer Services Team was awarded her STAR in relation to her work running the Library’s work experience programme. Trish individually tailors each participant’s timetable to ensure the student gets the most out of their placement and experiences first-hand how great it is to be part of the Brunel Community. Trish did such a wonderful job last time that the student plans to apply to study at Brunel.
