Banned Books Week is back!…

…Was it really a year since the last one?

Where do they go?

Oh well, here we are again with a new academic year just beginning and another Banned Books Week. This year, as well as a display on the ground floor of the Library, we’ll be posting relevant pieces here on Bookmark Daily all week and there will also be a chance to win a £25 Amazon voucher in our special Banned Books Week quiz! We’ve wrapped up copies of some particularly undesirable and seditious books in brown paper and all you need to do is match up the descriptions of the ten books and why they were banned with the correct titles from the display. Just write your answers on a card along with your contact details and we’ll enter you into our monthly prize draw.

Check here over the next few days for articles on books banned in India, graphic novelist Alan Moore and the deliberate crumminess of Moscow street maps during the Soviet era…. and much more besides.

So do have a look at the display if you’re in the Library and have a go at the quiz. We’ll be in touch with the lucky winner on 1st October after the prize draw is completed.

Good luck everybody!
