If you’re away from Brunel this summer but would like access to libraries elsewhere in the UK, then you may be interested in the SCONUL access scheme, which allows you to join local university libraries at no cost.
Membership is for a one year period, and terms will vary by institution and your level of study. To be eligible to join your Brunel Library account needs to be clear of fines and charges when you apply, and when you register you agree to abide by the rules of the Libraries you visit.
To register, fill in the online application form at http://www.access.sconul.ac.uk/sconul-access, where you will be asked to choose the Library you are interested in using. Once you have completed this, an email will be sent to us asking to check your account and confirm your application.
When successful, you will receive an email confirming your eligibility, which you should then show, along with your Brunel ID card, at the Library you wish to register with, and they will guide you through their registration process.
Things to remember:
- Your SCONUL registration is valid for a limited period of time;
- Check the website of the Library you wish to use before you visit, as each institution will have slightly different joining requirements;
- When you visit take a copy of your acceptance email, as well as your ID card.
