Building projects this summer

hammerAs part of the University’s TxP programme, we are pleased to confirm that the Library will be embarking on a series of projects this summer which will provide the following enhancements:

  • A new home for the Law Library
  • Increased provision of powered study spaces
  •  Improved facilities for postgraduates
  • Additional lift access
  • Additional teaching space
  • Additional consultation rooms

This work will take place in a number of phases, and we will continue to provide study space and access to resources across the summer.

Phase one of the programme will start today with preparations for building work on floors 0 and 3. If you are looking for silent study space, the study areas at the front of floor 3 will be unaffected,  and silent study rooms on 1 & 2 are also currently available. Many PCs are being temporarily removed from floor 0 as spaces are cleared, please use PCs on floor 1 and 2 which will continue to be accessible. The Study Skills collection has been temporarily relocated to mobile shelving, and is now located close to the self issue machines.

If you are using the Library this summer, please be aware of these works and be prepared for slight changes in locations of study space or materials – staff will be happy to help.
