Brunel joins the Royal Society’s Open Access Membership Programme

Brunel University has recently joined the Royal Society’s Excellence in Science Open Access Membership scheme.

This new membership entitles all Brunel researchers to a 25% discount on the standard processing fees charged by Royal Society journals to make articles freely available upon publication. Brunel researchers can choose to publish in any of the Royal Society’s journals, including the new open access journal, Open Biology.

The new Membership has been made possible via funding from the University’s Open Access Publishing Fund, which provides financial support to enable Brunel researchers to publish in Open Access and hybrid journals. The aim of the fund is to ensure the widest possible readership for Brunel’s research publications.

The Royal Society membership complements the University’s existing memberships of BioMed Central (including SpringerOpen), the Public Library of Science, Hindawi Publishing and Bentham Science, which all offer Brunel researchers discounted rates to publish in their journals.
