You may have noticed that two blue “pods” have appeared on the ground floor of the Library near the Study Skills Collection and ASK rooms.
Our team of Subject Liaison Librarians and John Aanonson, the Research Librarian, will be taking up residence in one of the pods between 1 and 5pm each week-day. During that time they’ll be available to help you develop your information handling skills, i.e. finding articles in journals, carrying out research for assignments, referencing, locating specialist subject material and much more.
The second pod will be used for a range of activities, including office hours and / or 1-to-1 appointments with the SLLs and members of the ASK team, regular events such as the forthcoming Fines Clinics, and drop-in sessions on a wide variety of topics (e.g. making the most of your reading lists, Summon, referencing, etc) and much more. Keep an eye on the Library blog to find out more about what’s happening and when.
As well as making your life easier during your time here at Brunel, developing your information skills also improves your employability (it all looks good on the CV) and so make sure that you take advantage of these new services and come along to talk to our information experts!
