Work is currently affecting all areas of the Library as we move from phase 1 ro phase 2 of the refurbishment. Latest updates are as follows:
Floor 0 – The DVD Collection has been temporarily relocated from Floor 2 to the Help Area, and will remain here until the completion of works. Refurbishment of Floor 0 has now been completed, and the main floor is now being used to store books from Floor 2.
Floor 1: Floor 1 is now open and accessible. Some furniture has been returned to the main floor, and most stock has now been reshelved. There will be minor works continuing on this floor across the summer as we continue to move and tidy shelved materials. We are also awaiting the arrival of new study furniture in the next 2 weeks, and PCs will be returned once this has been installed. In the Floor 1 extension Group Study Rooms and the Silent Study Room continue to be unavailable, but study areas and stock remain available.
Floor 2: All stock has now been removed from Floor 2 (main building), and this floor is now closed (in the main building). Shelfmarks L – R726.5 and the Teaching Practice Collection can now be requested through the Bookfetch Service, which can be accessed here.
In the extension (Red Zone) Group Study Rooms are available, but some areas of open study space are restricted as they are being used for temporary storage. Access to the Law Library is unaffected throughout this work.
Floor 3: Floor 3 is now closed, with the exception of the Library Training Room. This includes the extension (Red Zone) which is being used for storage while work continues.
Thank you for your continuing patience while the Library goes through this major transformation – if you need any assistance please speak to staff at the Help Desk, or email us via Library@Brunel.ac.uk.
